Finals omgosh yay! no jk

So we just had a chem test, and I didn't do too well on it. Also, Finals are coming up, which means studying, studying, and a little more studying. After studying, reviewing, we take the test. However, I plan to study as much as possible for each and every final. I need to start picking up and my grades and hopefully I'll be able to get the best grade(s) possible.

In Chem, we are learning about moles, which is a kind of silly name because there are so many different "moles" in the world, such as moles on the skin, or moles that dig up the dirt in our grounds. The number for our mole, however is 6.02 x 10^23.

Also, Mr. Olson and Mr. Washington made us this amazing video, check it out here:

Giving Thanks

So it's Thanksgiving, which means its getting closer to Christmas and Winter Break! ;] These are my favorite holidays/ time of the year. I'm glad it's break because I really want a break from all the schoolwork and to just take some time to relax. Other than the school work, school seems to be okay and hopefully I will be able to get good grades by the end of the semester. Happy Turkey Day!! This Thanksgiving, hopefully, i'll have some good food and have some good, quality time with my family.

just another blog

So this week we did some more stuff about molecular geometry. We are currently doing the molecule webpage which is actually due really soon. My molecule is buckminsterfullerene, or fullerene for short, which has the shape of a soccer ball. I thought it was cool because it looked like one and this molecule has an interesting name. Anyway, soccer seems to be okay right now, hopefully I will be able to manage all of my schoolwork even though I will be getting home later. Alright, g2g byeee

short week

This week is shorter because we have Veteran's Day. I am glad that we have a break because school work seems to be piling up lately. Also, I am kind of excited for soccer. School seems pretty "chill" lately and hopefully I can get good grades and maintain them.

I INTENSLY DISLIKE tumbling

So we are doing tumbling for PE, and i really really really dislike it. I would rather run the mile everyday than tumble. I hurt my neck today, which is very inconvenient. I don't really know what I'll need tumbling for in my life...I literally feel like doing nothing right now because my neck is in such a distracting pain. I wish tumbling would just be over at this moment. Also, I have a test tomorrow, which I will have to study for. Hopefully, my grade will be pretty good and I will do well in school or soccer.

alancingbay tuffsay

so lately we've been balancing equations, and I've had some past experiences with it, so I'm already kind of used to it. Anyway, some if it was confusing for me at first, but I think ill be ok with it after a little more practice. Thankfully, most of the stuff in school has been going by well, and yeah, thats all i got!!

Flame Test Lab

This lab was pretty cool because we played with fire, and we saw different colors of fire, like green, blue, pink. etc. It was interesting to see the different reactions that fire had with different substances. I guess it was kinda like fireworks, but not exactly. Anyway, I had a long week, I had two tests which I thought were pretty hard, and my wrist is sprained now.. well I'm done for now and yeah

video

the title pretty much sums it all up, we watched more of the E=MC^2 video. School is going by pretty well, I can't wait for soccer to start. I wish we had less homework though, especially hw that takes forever like math.

htnin eht yadirf

This past week, we watched a movie about Einstein and other guys. One guy was named Faraday or something. He apparently helped discover the theory which led to the creation of the motor. We also did the lab where 100 pennies represented the number of radioactive atoms after a certain number of half-lives. I just finished graphing it on google docs like 5 minutes ago. Lately, i've had a lot of homework, and I still have a lot coming up, which is really stressing me out. Anyway, this week was pretty good because the movie was pretty good and the lab was okay, it helped me understand half-lives a little bitter.

IsaTest and da ice

Sooooo, today, we had another test, and I think it was okay. It's kind of odd because we have another test in like, two days. Oh well, this is a good chance to raise my grade. Also, today we did stuff with dry ice, which was insanely entertaining. It was really fun to experiment with dry ice, water, and other things. I learned that when you have a balloon full of CO2 and a balloon full or regular air the CO2 one falls faster. All in all it was a really fun experiment because we had a lot of time to observe the reactions and tried many new things. That's pretty much all I have for now, so byeeee.

F I F T H B L O G

So, we have a test next week, which I'll begin preparing for soon. Also, I have to finish my website, and it's getting late! AND, I have to finish my reading for English! Ah, that's a lot of work... and I'm tired. So we did this lab the other day, where we dropped markers on a piece of paper and the estimated amount of times it hit the paper was once or twice, but we ended up hitting the circles approximately 8 times. I recently saw our music video on YouTube, which was cool. Also, we watched two different versions of basically the same video, where we zoom out from the earth and back into someone. The Simpsons one was really cool, I haven't see that show in a long time. Anyway, I'm off to finish my website, bye!

Website

So, I still have to finish my website, after just finishing my definitions. I did all the definitions up to 3.5, and my friend told me we only needed to do up to chapter 2 or something. Oh well, at least now I have less work to do later on. I've been super tired lately, lots of homework, for all classes. The last two weeks have been pretty long, I honestly cannot wait for the weekend. Luckily, after tomorrow, it is! I hope that the amount of homework I have lightens up, even though it probably isn't that much, compared to junior year. Alright, that's pretty much all I have for now, so bye!

chemistryblogforthursdaythetenth

Even though this week is short (because of Labor Day and minimum day tomorrow), it feels longer than a regular week. I have homework for literally EVERY class today, not fun. I'm ready for this week to be over, to get some rest. For our first quiz, I did okay, but I made some careless mistakes and definitely could do better next time. I've learned to be more careful and to double and/or triple check my answers. In class, we made the Conversion Factor video yesterday, which is good application in our studying. We really got to work in an interesting way. Also, in recent labs, we have been working on the periodic table and how to sort out the elements. Personally, I'd like to do more labs with fire and such, but this is pretty interesting too. Another reason I've been stressed out, is that progress reports are coming soon, and I need to get good grades for myself and to be able to continue playing soccer. Well, that's it for now, gotta do other homework and eat, sooooo bye

post dos

This is the second time we are going to post for chemistry and currently in chemistry, we're doing an experiment which requires us to guestimate the weight of certain objects, measuring the exact weight, then comparing the two results. I thought that this lab was cool, but I liked the gold penny one more because it was just a little more interesting. However, this one involves more work which is a good way to work with scientific objects and other people. None of our objects broke, which was cool, and I found it surprising that the black and green stoppers weighed as much as they did, I thought they would be much lighter.

my first post

So, I'm in Chemistry class right now, and I'm typing on this new blog, eat-da-escargot. I chose this name, because I thought it was weird, and it sounded funny. This year, I hope to get a 4.0, and I'm ready to work for it. Also, my other goals include: playing for varsity soccer, going back to college in LA eventually, get to 6 feet+, play professional soccer, meet Jonah Hill, and live in Europe for a while. I'll think of more goals later... Next, passions. . . I love playing soccer, I like playing darts, I love spending time with my family and friends too. I liked the penny lab, but I think we should have made more gold pennies. It was a really cool project.
