1/14/10

So this is Thursday, and this week seemed to breeze by very quickly. I had a math quiz on Monday; hopefully I did well on it. Then, on Wednesday, yesterday, we played Cap. for soccer. We won 3-0. It was kind of disappointing for me, because I was trying really hard to get a goal, and I missed some very good chances. I had a header bounce wide, which I think was my best chance of the game. It's good that we won though. Anyway, we're learning about Molarity in chem and its pretty easy once you get used to the formulas. We'll also be starting pH soon, so hopefully I'll do well. Tomorrow, we play South City at Mills, and they are a pretty good team. I think if we play hard we can win though.

Winter Break

During winter break, I went to LA, which is always fun. I really like going there because it's my hometown and I have what I would call city-nationalism towards it. I really needed this break because I felt like the schoolwork was overwhelming. I look forward to the second half of the soccer season. Also, I look forward to watching the Champions League on tv soon to come in February. Anyway, that's all I have for now, and hopefully I do well in school.

Like Dissolves Like

Dissolving is to make a solution by the means of breaking up and mixing different particles or elements.
Click here to learn more about dissolution.

LIKE DISSOLVES LIKE
"The Like Dissolves Like" rule explains which kinds of solutes will dissolve in which kind of solvent. Basically, polar solvents will dissolves polar solutes and nonpolar solvents will dissolve nonpolar solutes. ;)
So what exactly does "like dissolves like" mean?

Finals omgosh yay! no jk

So we just had a chem test, and I didn't do too well on it. Also, Finals are coming up, which means studying, studying, and a little more studying. After studying, reviewing, we take the test. However, I plan to study as much as possible for each and every final. I need to start picking up and my grades and hopefully I'll be able to get the best grade(s) possible.

In Chem, we are learning about moles, which is a kind of silly name because there are so many different "moles" in the world, such as moles on the skin, or moles that dig up the dirt in our grounds. The number for our mole, however is 6.02 x 10^23.

Also, Mr. Olson and Mr. Washington made us this amazing video, check it out here:

Giving Thanks

So it's Thanksgiving, which means its getting closer to Christmas and Winter Break! ;] These are my favorite holidays/ time of the year. I'm glad it's break because I really want a break from all the schoolwork and to just take some time to relax. Other than the school work, school seems to be okay and hopefully I will be able to get good grades by the end of the semester. Happy Turkey Day!! This Thanksgiving, hopefully, i'll have some good food and have some good, quality time with my family.

just another blog

So this week we did some more stuff about molecular geometry. We are currently doing the molecule webpage which is actually due really soon. My molecule is buckminsterfullerene, or fullerene for short, which has the shape of a soccer ball. I thought it was cool because it looked like one and this molecule has an interesting name. Anyway, soccer seems to be okay right now, hopefully I will be able to manage all of my schoolwork even though I will be getting home later. Alright, g2g byeee

short week

This week is shorter because we have Veteran's Day. I am glad that we have a break because school work seems to be piling up lately. Also, I am kind of excited for soccer. School seems pretty "chill" lately and hopefully I can get good grades and maintain them.
